It’s been a hot minute since I’ve done anything regarding AI, hasn’t it? I’ve missed you guys. I’ve had a post sitting in drafts for like five months about setting up an automatic torrenting service on a home (or cloud) server, but as usual, I got too lazy, bored and distracted, and now when I look at the amount of work I need to do and the shit I need to remember and re-research, I simply close the tab and pretend I do not see it.
Anyway, this shitpost isn’t about that, it’s about a new Discord server. Why am I talking about it here, where the only people who read this site are the ones that are already in the server? Because maybe one day when I’m old and dementia-riddled, I can come back and look over these old posts and think to myself “Wow, I really wasted my life, huh?” and then ask my grandchildren to pull the plug.
Anyway, I’m rambling. Avalon is a server started by several dedicated participants of the Trashpanda LLM/AI server, dedicated to hosting AI bot creators and their fans. Kind of a way for them to interact with the people that enjoy their bots without them needing to manage their own servers, and without them needed to grimace through the pain at JanitorAI mods.
OK, sick dude, but why should I care?
First of all, fuck you, this is my post, either fix your tone, or get the fuck out of here, I don’t answer to you, what are you, a cop? Show me a warrant, fucker.
Anyway. If you’re into the AI gooning roleplay space, I’m sure you’ve been around the traps. Janitor, Wyvern, Chub.ai, et al. The goal of Avalon was to be a place for creators from all locations to come, hang out, post their bots, and essentially just be a hub for communication and Good Vibes™. If you have a favourite creator, get ’em to come along! We have a few already! I’d even go so far as to say I’m friendly with a few of them.
If you don’t have a favourite creator, well, maybe you’ll find one here. They’re all really talented, and I’m sure you’ll find something you like amongst the offerings.
Beyond that, there’s also just a bunch of channels for general chit-chat, or help. You into SillyTavern? There’s a channel for that. What about AI-generated art theft image creation? We got that too. Unhinged Starboard channel, so the things people say at 3am can be maintained for eternity? You bet your ass we do!
